We will be exploring bark carvings techniques and creating either a wall hanger or a shelf sitting bark dwelling from your imagination. Bring your ideas, and make sure your tools are sharp!
I decided the best way to approach this project was first by creating the shoe. Eventually, I would like to create a more whimsical feeling to it by adding windows, doors, and other creative touches in an attempt to bring the nursery rhyme to life (well in a carving). I wanted to make the shoe as realistic as possible before adding the other touches.
Class taught by Jim Hiser. His rough out could take on many different roles. I decided on an old school train conductor, with watch and tickets in hand.
